Hot Drinks machine for Mettricks

In the second year of my degree at Solent University, I designed a hot drinks machine to fit the aesthetic style and branding of Mettricks Coffee in Southampton.

During the development stage of the project I visited both of Mettricks' locations in Southampton and ideated a series of concepts and developments. Not a Coffee drinker, my proposal was for a Hot Chocolate machine, selected as it's a popular choice in winter and for children, and the Hot Chocolates I've had at Mettricks have been some of the best I've had.

The selected design was developed and refined, before being CAD modelled and sliced for 3D printing on my own machine. The slicing of the model for printing was done through the help of a software package called LuBan, which was in development at the time and I recieved positive feedback from it's creator.
The 3D printed sections were then joined and the long process of filling and sanding proceeded. This continued until I was content with the surface finish, and the seperate sections were then painted, the nozzle affixed and lettering stenciled on.
Looking back I'm content with the final model given the amount of experience and access to equipment I had at the time. After submission, it was one of a few selected for exhibition at Mettricks Coffee in Southampton City Centre, however the location had to temporarily close before this was possible.
